When Suzanne Maggio's vivid, demanding, and self-absorbed mother develops dementia, Suzanne is compelled to apply the wisdom she's acquired from decades of experience as a family therapist to her own family of origin. Filled with personal stories and universal themes, The Cardinal Club not only chronicles the personal journey to understand the tragedy unfolding through the illness but also an often difficult relationship with her mother. The result of the author's journey is an invitation to readers to open their hearts to "unfinished business" in their own relationships.
