In 2010, Tamsin attended a training where she was introduced to a specific set of questions, asked in a particular way, that helped to transform the way that she listened to herself and to others. These questions are called Clean questions. One of the things that makes them unique is that they can be used to focus on the metaphors that we naturally use to express ourselves - describing one thing in terms of another. Shining a light on these metaphors can be a very creative way of coming to know ourselves better. As part of the training she was encouraged to represent in some way what she had learnt from her personal exploration. Within 15 minutes a poem 'came to her'. A poem which gave voice to some very powerful realisations in a way that she found deeply satisfying. Over the past few years she has noticed that if she sits still for long enough to 'capture the moment', a poem appears. And if she finds herself grappling with an aspect of the experience that she wants to capture, then she knows she can turn to good friends who will help her explore her thinking by creating a Listening Space for her using Clean questions. This book offers a collection of her poems, along with a fun activity that invites the reader to explore their own experience in a creative way through metaphor using Clean questions.
Autorenporträt
Tamsin Hartley, MSc, is an established coach and trainer. She has always been drawn to using metaphor in her work, and when a friend introduced her to Clean Language it wasn't long before she was hooked. Here was a respectful way of working with people's metaphors that is both resourceful and richly creative. Tamsin has combined the principles of mindful awareness with exploration using Clean Language questions to create the Listening Space - a new approach to Listening to yourself and others that can help transform your life. The Listening Space evolved from her belief in the transformative power of listening to deeply to ourselves and others. She is author of 'The Listening Space: A New Path to Personal Discovery'. This latest book contains a selection of poems that have been inspired by exploring her own experiences using a Listening Space.
