The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge of women on BSE prior and after the educational intervention between Intervene and Control group. Based on the objective of the research study, twenty five samples from Laxmi women saving group & credit co-operative society and twenty five samples from Swet Vairav women saving group were chosen randomly by using simple random sampling (lottery method) and were categorized into control group and intervene group. The educational intervention of one and half hour was carried out in intervene group while control group was kept placebo. Therefore true experimental design was implemented. A significant increase (p0.05) in knowledge score was observed among the intervene group during post test, while in control group only minimal change was found. On the basis of the findings of the study, the author would like to recommend that health awareness program should be conducted from government level. Further educational intervention and studies are needed to find out the effectiveness of BSE for early detection of breast cancer, to enhance cost effectiveness and increase life expectancy of cancer patients.
