James Leutze is Chancellor Emeritus of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He was President of Hampden Sydney College and at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill he was named to the Dowd Chair in recognition of his award for teaching and publication. He holds a PhD from Duke and served as a captain in the U.S. Air Force.
