Autorenporträt
Deja Elizabeth J. Braxton, born January 1, 1996, has always dreamed big. She had many passions as a child, one being to own a chain of hotels. However, growing up in a small town sometimes forced her to believe that big dreams couldn't be manifested. She fell in love with the arts and creativity of theatre around the age of five. Braxton loved singing and dancing and showed her love for it in her home church. Later, within her early teenage years, she began to venture out and audition for plays in school. Her participation in theatre for school gave her the experience of competing and performing from stage to stage, winning awards as a team and individually. Braxton thinks highly of her theatre instructor, who challenged her to be the best she could be. Although she loved the arts, she felt as if something were missing. It was during her junior year of high school that she was introduced to a woman of greatness. Her English teacher pulled out many types of literature and made Braxton acknowledge it in a way that she had never understood before. With much time, hard work, and the help and love of her English teacher, Braxton found her voice and ability to write. She now lives in a world of poetry, short stories, and virtuous quotes. Her favorite writers are known to be none other than Maya Angelou and Nicholas Sparks.
