Worldwide there are many factors known to accelerate the natural resources degradation. Dense population and the extensive human activities add to the environmental hardship of the semi desert zone. Sudan, specially the White Nile State, affected by land deterioration and ecological crisis. This calls for a careful diagnostic study of issues related to natural resources together with systems practiced in the utilization of the available potentialities. The study meant to investigate the indigenous knowledge and the newly perceived ideas concerning management of vegetation cover and searched for better opportunities to reach sustainability in use of the available natural potentialities considering the needs of future generations.
