Autorenporträt

I was born in Guantánamo, Cuba and lived in a small home built on stilts overlooking the Guantánamo Bay. I came to the United States of America at the age of five, where I spent most of my childhood years in the Florida Keys. That is where I developed my passion for the sea. At the age of eighteen, I was hired by Eastern Airlines and spent the next fifteen years travelling to many places around the world. It is because of these experiences that I have so many stories to share with my students. I hope that as you read them, they will inspire you to find science in your daily life too.
