DENISE SANTOS is a materials writer, teacher educator, and researcher. She holds a PhD from the University of Reading and an MEd from the University of Oklahoma. Santos is coauthor of Strategies for Second Language Listening: Current Scenarios and Improved Pedagogy. GLÁUCIA V. SILVA is professor of Portuguese at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She holds an MA in linguistics and a PhD in Hispanic linguistics from the University of Iowa. She is coauthor of Contextos: Curso intermediário de português and Beginner's Brazilian Portuguese, among other book projects.
