Duringthe first section particularlines have been set in afreely imitativecounterpoint that borderson heterophony. In thesecond section, chordsare sustained for longerperiods of time and themale and female voicesare clearly separated.Musical ideas andtechniques from the firstsection reappear in thethird, allowing thelistener to hear thegeneral formal divisionsin the piece.
