Marina Keegan graduated from Yale University in 2012 magna cum laude. While a student, she wrote for the Yale Daily News, organized Occupy Morgan Stanley, and co-wrote the musical Independents, which was produced at the New York Fringe Festival. Days after her graduation, Marina was killed in a car crash on Cape Cod.
