He has starred in several television series, including Maverick, The Rockford Files and 8 Simple Rules, and dozens of movies, including The Great Escape, Victor Victoria, and Murphy's Romance, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. In February 2005, Garner received the Screen Actors Guild's Lifetime Achievement Award.
