Alexander Olson first knew he wanted to be a scientist when his dad taught him how to capture hydrogen gas with foil, batteries, and water. He grew up in Colorado, got his bachelors in chemistry and biology from a small engineering school in Southern California and his PhD in biochemistry from a larger school in Boston. Now he works full-time in science, the closest thing to magic he can achieve in this world. His love of magic came from escaping into fantastical stories as a child, where he could explore worlds that stretch to the limits of imagination. He first delved into creating his own stories by running multiple tabletop roleplaying games. Eventually he decided to write the story he wanted to read.
