The phrase "man of God" appears over 70 times in the Bible, but, the phrase "woman of God" does not appear one time. However, there were many 'great' women of the Bible, to mention a few: Eve, Miriam, Deborah, RUTH, Hannah, ESTHER, Elizabeth (John the Baptist's Mother), MARY (the Mother of our LORD JESUS), Anna, Mary Magdalene, Martha, and her sister, Mary, Lydia, Phoebe, and many others. All through the Bible, women have played a major role in the advance of the Gospel message. In the background of our LORD JESUS, we find women being a huge part of His ministry here on earth. It is with these 'women' in mind that we want to consider two very prominent women of the Old Testament in this Bible study. RUTH and ESTHER were very influential in the continuing nation of Israel and ultimately the message God has for us today.
