June McKinnon has a master's degree in history and has published several articles in the journals Historical Society of Cape Town, The Genealogical Society of the Western Cape and the Genealogical Society of South Africa. Her book A Tapestry of Lives: Women of the Cape in the 17th Century was published by Kwela in 2004. She lives in Cape Town.
