Gretchen Griffith is a former teacher whose career covered multiple levels from Head Start to college freshman. She currently serves as the Carolinas volunteer coordinator for students who go abroad with AFS, a cultural exchange program. She has published in Highlights for Children, written professional curriculum guides, and published her first nonfiction book for adults in 2012. This is her first book for children. She lives in Lenoir, North Carolina. She currently lives in La Plata, Argentina, with her husband, Marcelo, and their two children, Sara and Francisco.
