IN THE ARTS & BUSINESS Roxanne Harris is the founder of the for profit company Roxanne Harris Enterprises through which she employs her talents as author, jewelry designer, website designer and video director. Roxanne has written several books. Her latest book is What Every Fat Girl Wants. This book is a candid yet humorous discussion regarding the dreams and dilemmas of plus size women. WEFGW seeks to spark a broader discussion around this subject. Roxanne Harris has two other works in this series scheduled to be released in fall of 2011-WEFGW Guide to Nutrition and WEFGW Guide to Fitness DVD. Her book What Every Fat Girl Wants was listed as the Philly books pick of the week In April. Just Like Us and My Soul Turned Inside Out are two bible studies written for small group or individual women studies. Both books are practical and purposeful to help women move toward a fulfilled purpose in their lives. IN FAITH & WORSHIP Roxanne Harris is an evangelist on staff at Chosen Generation Fellowship in Hurst, Texas. Her pastor is Rev G. L. Wilbourn. She serves as Christian development teacher, prison outreach and food pantry director. She has been preaching and teaching the word of God for over 10 years. IN EMPOWERMENT EFFORTS Roxanne Harris is the founder and president of Woman2Woman Empowerment. W2W Empowerment is a 501c3 nonprofit service organization that assists incarcerated women in making a smooth transition back into society. W2W Empowerment is dedicated to empowering women to move from dependency to self sufficiency through the practical application of the word of God. Roxanne teaches weekly program-Empowering Choices, at the Tarrant County Jail in Ft. Worth Texas. Her program also has been taught at FMC Carswell and at the Samaritan House in Ft. Worth Texas. Roxanne has also directed and produced two documentaries regarding breast cancer and smoking in partnership with the American Cancer Society of MD. W2W Empowerment has helped change the lives of hurting women for more than 12 years. IN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Through her humanitarian and community efforts she has received several awards from a variety of agencies and organization. She received an award the Regional Service Woman of the Year from Sorptomist International, Governors Volunteer Service Certificate from the State of MD and Mountainside Community Coalition Community Building award present by Sen. Hafer of MD. She received certificates of appreciation from FMC Carswell, FCI, Cumberland, Tarrant County Jail and many others. She believes in serving her community. Roxanne Harris is mother of two sons, Brandon and Stephen. She has three grandchildren. She and her husband, Rev. Steve Harris, reside in Hurst Texas.
