When the politics of a small southern town, spearheaded by one of Matt's own predecessors, work to derail the young cleric's good deeds and destroy his sweet family, he is pushed beyond what any good man can withstand and resorts to a plan that will forever invalidate his holy reputation. It is, however, the unlikely and often humorous friendship with Clack, a man guided by his own compass of justifiable war, that becomes Matt's own salvation.
