She grew up in a Caribbean household, and was exposed to a variety of different cultures. The exposure instilled in her a deep appreciation for the importance of cultural understanding in healthcare. Dawn has dedicated her career to working with diverse populations. She has worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centers. In each setting, she has worked to build relationships with patients and their families, and to understand their unique needs and perspectives. She is a strong advocate for cultural competency in healthcare. She believes that it is essential for healthcare providers to understand the cultural beliefs and practices of their patients in order to provide them with the best possible care. She is also a strong advocate for patient-centered care, and believes that patients should be at the center of all healthcare decisions.
