Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Daniel M. Popek is the son of a career active duty United States Army Officer (retired). After residing in several states in the eastern United States and a foreign country growing up, Daniel lives and works in North Carolina and has a keen interest in Genealogy and American History, particularly military history. He is also concerned about the marked and unmarked burial locations of New England Revolutionary War soldiers, especially those from Rhode Island. Daniel is a member of the Rhode Island Genealogical Society, the Company of Military Historians, and an over 20-year member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society of Boston, Massachusetts. Daniel is a descendant through his mother's family of a "during the war" enlisted soldier who served six years in Rhode Island's Continental Line. This work is his first book.
