Jessica Metcalf was born in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated from Fairfield University with a bachelors degree in English literature and has a masters degree in secondary education. Jessica teaches English literature at the Salisbury School in Salisbury, Connecticut, where she lives with her husband and four kids.
