Diana Dumitru is Ion Räiu Professor in Romanian Studies at Georgetown University, USA. Her research interests include the Holocaust in Eastern Europe, nationality policies and antisemitism in the USSR, and late Stalinism and postwar trials in the Soviet Union. Her second book is entitled The State, Antisemitism and Collaboration in the Holocaust: The Borderlands of Romania and the Soviet Union (2016). She is an Editor of the Journal of Genocide Research. A. Dirk Moses is Anne and Bernard Spitzer Professor of International Relations at the City College of New York, CUNY, USA. He is the author of The Problems of Genocide: Permanent Security and the Language of Transgression (2021) and is the Senior Editor of the Journal of Genocide Research.
