JAMES MANESS. BORN AND RAISED NEAR STELLA, MO. LEFT HOME IN 1971 TO SERVE IN THE U.S. NAVY. RETURNED AND OBTAINED A BS IN BIOLOGY FROM MISSOURI SOUTHERN STATE COLLEGE (NOW UNIVERSITY), JOPLIN, MO IN 1977. SPENT THE NEXT 18 YEARS IN THE U.S. ARMY, MISSOURI ARMY NATIONAL GUARD AND ARMY RESERVE. CONCURRENTLY WORKED IN FEDERAL CIVIL SERVICE. NOW RETIRED AND LIVING IN BROKEN ARROW, OK. WHERE HE WRITES AND ENJOYS LIFE WITH HIS WIFE OF OVER 46 YEARS. THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN, BOTH BOYS AND CURRENTLY HAVE 5 GRANDCHILDREN AND AN AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD DOG TO ENRICH THEIR LIVES.
