She wanted to write the bibliography of one Kathleen Scott, wife to Robert Falcon Scott, a famous Antarctica explorer. Abandoning the project, she decided to explore on a whim, finding herself in Guernsey, the now famous island in the English Channel because of a book to be written about it in the future. And there was the fog and being stranded, and the thirty-six hours she tried to survive all of it by reading everything she could get her hands on in the airport's little bookstore that, in the future, will also hold her bestselling book.
