You meet Robert as a young boy growing up in the 18th century in a smuggler's family. His father being a smuggler and a good one by all accounts. Much to Robert's mother's disgust, his father begins to teach him the trade and one day Robert's name would become bigger than he could have ever imagined but at what cost! Robert is not without his enemies and one gentleman in particular, the local revenue officer John Baites, is determined to put Robert behind bars. But, an opportunity arises that Robert just can't turn down. If it goes right he could have all he'd ever dreamed of. If it goes wrong, he could lose everything! Which would it be?

Autorenporträt

John Needham, born and raised in Bournmouth where he lives with his wife and three children. He started his writing career in 2009 and is enjoying it more and more. He left school in 1977 and started his working career at Plessey¿s, later to become Siemens and in time worked on gas turbines. He then moved on to London and worked for Tate & Lyle, travelling the world visiting sugar refineries, finally ending up in the oil and gas industry. In his spare time, he likes to write history books, including his debut novel, A Smuggler¿s Tale.
