Raised in Santa Barbara,, California, Heidi Lepper Barrett moved to Iowa to complete her post doctoral fellowship at the University of Iowa after earning a PhD in personality and social psychology at the university of California 1996. She and her husband Joe found their way to Des Moines with her two sons were born and where she has been an adjunct professor of psychology at Drake University, since 2000. As a family, they moved to Moscow, Russia, for three years in 2010 and then the Luxembourg City, Luxembourg for another three years. They returned home and her two sons, Gray and Quinn, are now grown young men and Heidi enjoys time teaching yoga, guiding others and spending time with Joe in nature.
