This is the "life story" of two yellow drake ducklings, Topsy and Sunshine. The story follows the ducklings from the time they are born on Mr. Brown's farm, become pets for two sisters, Susan and Marie, and their life's adventures thereafter. As adults, Topsy and Sunshine inspired a successful duck farm. Sunshine is the more dominant duck of the two. When he is a duckling, the color of his feathers is sunshine yellow. As an adult, Sunshine is the smaller white male. Topsy grows up to be the larger of the two. Also, because Sunshine pecks on him, Topsy has a bald spot (or thin feathers) on the back of his head. They enjoyed playing with the ducks which became very tame. The little ducklings had been purchased at the market at Easter time. They were yellow at first. As they began to grow, they became two beautiful white ducks..
