Founded over two decades ago, Girls Write Now is New York's first and only organization with a writing and mentoring model for girls. We are a community of professional writers dedicated to providing opportunities for underserved high school girls to develop their independent voices and write their way to a better future. Girls Write Now has been distinguished by The New York Times and the White Housetwiceas one of the nation's top after-school arts and culture programs, and is a two-time Nonprofit Excellence award winner.




Madeline McIntosh is the CEO of Penguin Random House U.S. She has worked in publishing for almost three decades, and in that time has held positions in publishing, sales, operations, and audio, and was a pioneer in the early development of online sales and in the digital transition. McIntosh is a Girls Write Now honoree.

Allison Russell is a three-time Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter for Outside Child; author of a forthcoming memoir with Flatiron Books; and an anti-bigotry activist and Girls Write Now honoree.

Morayo Faleyimu is a writer of short and long-form fiction. She works as a Professional Development Writer for Uncommon Schools. Faleyimu is also a Girls Write Now mentor alumna and a co-chair of the Girls Write Now Anthology Committee.
