This book tells the story of two colleagues, 'Luke' and 'Andrew' and contrasts two very different approaches to the same stressful situation that led to quite different outcomes. The story is told simply so that anyone actually experiencing stress might find it both fun and helpful - rather than heavy going. The author then uses her experience as a counsellor and human resources consultant to draw out, and describe, many principles about how stress is created and how it is best managed.
There are also some exercises included in the book so that readers develop personal ways to find their right balance of pressure/non pressure in their life and to learn better ways of managing stressful situations.
It is a fun easy to read book - packed with helpful ideas.

Autorenporträt
I originally worked as a Social Worker with a wide range of client groups including: homeless families, disabled persons, those with mental health issues and the elderly in the United Kingdom, and with indigenous Australians at Amata, Port Augusta and Adelaide. I managed regional welfare services in the United Kingdom and was a Foster Care Consultant and Staff Development Officer in Australia. I was the foundation President of the Counselling Association of South Australia and its delegate at the formation of the national Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.
For almost thirty years, I also co-partnered a human resource consultancy, Quest Associates/Quest Partners, and successfully applied the skills detailed in this text to meet the diverse needs of individuals, organizations and commercial enterprises. My co-partner and I developed, managed and taught in a suite of accredited counselling courses, from Certificate IV to Degree level that earned a reputation for producing quality counsellors in the field. We have taught in the Masters in Counselling for the University of South Australia for many years both in Adelaide and Hong Kong. We sold our business in 2004 in order to retire.
