From the beginning of humankind God has been directing us in the right direction, but sometimes we choose to go in the wrong direction. God sent Jesus down to earth to live among us and to experience the life that His people lived each day. Jesus died on the cross for our sins to provide us with a second chance to get it right. The day we accepted Jesus in our lives as our Lord and Savior, He gave us the gift of sanctification. If we follow this process we can thrive to be more like Jesus Christ, becoming a disciple of God, with the determination to keep our eyes on the prize, Jesus Christ.

Mary Venable-Vaughn was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was employed and retired from Eli Lilly & Company in 2005. Mary has held many positions in the Indiana Conference branch of the Women's Missionary Society, one of which was being elected the President of the Indiana Conference Branch Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In 2008, she founded the Community and Faith Outreach Initiative an organization with the mission of being an advocate for Grandparent's raising their Grandchildren. She created a Grandparent's Support Group to inform grandparents about the different resources available to them in Lake County Indiana. Mary's husband has served as a Pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal Church for more than 22 years, currently serving at Grant Memorial AME Church, Chicago, Illinois. Mary's God given gifts is used to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ thought out the African Methodist Episcopal Church with a world view. . Mary is the author of "Member's Class 102" a book that helps in teaching Membership Classes or Bible Study Classes, this book is used World Wide. One of Mary's favorite scriptures comes from Joshua 24:15 that states "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord". Mary is married to The Rev. Emmanuel J. Vaughn, Sr. and they have 4 children.
