John Urry is a Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Lancaster University. Educated University of Cambridge (BA/MA Economics, PhD Sociology), he is the editor of the International Library of Sociology; Co-editor of Mobilities and Director of the Lancaster Centre for Mobilities Research.
