From turkeys gathered around a spring in sub zero weather to clumsy, young geese learning to fly; from a mysterious bird to a great blue heron with a different outlook on life, these poems describe and celebrate wildlife on our 40 acres. Then, there is the wildlife within our home: our black cat, imprisoned, in her way of thinking, when being outside amongst the lilacs would be preferable. People in our family are included in poetry also, from a loved sister in her last days to a visit by a new great-grandson.
