Florence Bell Ore tells her life story as she remembers it while growing up on the windswept prairies of Alberta, Canada during the dustbowl and the Great Depression. As the niece of an Anglican missionary on the Blackfoot reserve, Florence had to bridge three cultures that of her English heritage, her Indian neighbors, and her Canadian school- mates in the town of Gleichen. She later married an American and moved across the border to Montana where she raised her family. She wrote poetry, essays and her book, hosted a writers group, and worked as an editor for Raven Publishing, Inc. from her home in Pony, Montana. She passed away on October 17, 2014.
