In academic and scientific work, it is obvious that various different rules are applied for citations. Almost every scholarly discipline has developed its own special methods, and there are oddities even within single fields. One important reason for this is that the concepts of ?exactness=, ?comprehensibility= and even ?practicability= diverge within the canon of academic subjects.
