Each consists of several invited papers followed by contributed papers. The number of contributed papers attests to the high level of research activity on RSP alloys, even though the symposium was restricted to aluminum alloys. Approximately 150 indiAviduals attended the symposium.In summary, this volume, which has resulted from the symposium on rapAidly solidified aluminum alloys, is an excellent presentation of the state of the technology and science in the field. It is of interest not only to engineers and scientists concerned with aluminum alloy development and processing but also to those concerned with alloy development and processing in general.
