This book is about the problems I had in the VA and still going on. All my problems occurred after I was honorably discharged. In the year 2000 I was gainfully employed as a Tool & Die Maker and happy going my job until the VA talked me into doing a study for the government. This book is about the problems I had in the VA and still going on. All my problems occurred after I was honorably discharged. In the year 2000 I was gainfully employed as a Tool & Die Maker and happy going my job until the VA talked me into doing a study for the government. But actually it was for some drug company that the VA was working for. The VA and the drug company are responsible for my medical problems. I had total knee replacement in my left knee. When I left the hospital they gave me a cane for support. I was told that they would send me a special chair for the bathroom and also a small machine to help me bend my knee for physical therapy. I would be doing physical therapy at home. On August 13,2011 a vendor from the VA called and said that he would pick up the machine which he did. He said that I couldn't keep it longer and that I would need another authorization from Hines. The man says that he rents the machines to Hines. I was under the impression that Hines gave that machine to me for physical rehabilitation. I had the machine to eight months and I use it on a daily basis. Now I don't have any machine to use to help with my knee. I still need the machine. I find it strange that the VA is renting the machine from a special vendor. I had the machine for eight months and the VA paid for it. How many times does the VA pay for the machine? The VA looses money on the agreement and the patient looses care. With this harassment I wonder if it is still part of there sick study? This is regarding my appointment at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. I received a letter from the center and a phone call telling me to report there on April 2011. In April 2011 I received another letter from VA and a phone call stating to report on April 12, 2011. The letter was the same except for the dates. I called the VA to check and they told me to come in as they rescheduled the appointment. On April 12, 2011 I went to the room 1490 as per instructions. I talked to the receptionist and he told me that there was a mistake. I had to stay there an hour in a half and the man gave me new instructions. He told me to come back on April 28, 2011 and also on May 13, 2011. I would like to know if this is accurate or if this is a mistake. My next-door neighbor drove me and waited for me. I paid him $40.00 for his time and gas. We left at 7:15 a.m. and we returned home at 12:30 p.m. My neighbor said that he would never do that again. The last time I was Jessie Brown Clinic I had a series of tests and talked to different doctors. To my understanding everything was finished and I would not have to come back anymore. Why do I have to go thru this harassment? I do not have the time or the money. I was under the impression that a decision was made. Please get back to me and let me know if the dates are correct and I have to really go. I was part of the test and I could have died. What I am saying it was no mistake and they know what they were doing and it was all for the drug company. Regarding the drug company I do not know what they were giving me. I was going by their word. They were running two tests at the same time one for the drug and one for instruments they were using. They always told me they can fix anything that goes wrong which they can not and still do not understand the problem and they just want me to just go away. The drug was taken off the market. It was put back on the market but perhaps reformulated (same drug). As many times as I went back to the VA for help I got nowhere. I remember one time they the VA called me and told me to come in and they made an appointment to talk to a doctor about my condition. I kept my appointment and after a long time everybody else seemed to go before me. I know a doctor would come out and look at me and go back in his office. I was feeling very uncomfortable. Finally I got to talk to a doctor. He told me to sit and wait and came back in twenty minutes. He said his boss told him tell me to go home. I would like to know who is the boss, the drug company or the VA? At the time I felt so belittled and discriminated against and I should have asked who is the boss? All those years I got treated like crap and it continues and it never changes. I feel sorry for my self but what about the guys coming back now?
