I was given life, and God transferred that energy to Herbert L. Shurn and Theresa Jackson Nichols Shurn. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, off of St. Clair Avenue. During my short existence here on earth, I have witnessed many atrocities, but I have seen an enormous amount of joy also. My initial thoughts were to express the social ills endured by the downtrodden of society. However, I decided to express my life experiences. Therefore, my poems are expressions through the eyes of my soul.

Autorenporträt
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. I attended Forest Hill Parkway Elementary, Hamilton Jr. High and John Adams High School. I graduated from Cuyahoga Community College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Benedict College in South Carolina University in Professional Counseling. I served honorably in the U.S. Army. Speech written during my candidacy for Councilman: I am a Community activist & public servant, so don't get me confused with the political rhetoric I am that person who is unafraid and unapologetic when it comes to addressing the concerns of our community. I am fighting to reverse the mental psychosis of a hopeless people who have been: criminalized, demoralized, marginalized, dehumanized, and it is time for us to wake up and realize we on the verge of genocide. I want this community to know that I hear your silent voices, and I see your tears of hopelessness. "I know change is often an uncomfortable. "My priority is to continue to support the grassroots," organizers and like minded people who are committed to making our communities a safe& decent place to live. I know the heart piercing pain of these senseless acts of violence, because I lost three brothers to these senseless acts of violence.
