Autorenporträt
Dr. (Smt.) Usha Mahisekar was born in Solapur, India in 1945 and moved to Chicago with her husband in 1974 where she practiced Anesthesiology for over thirty years. She was an active leader in the Chicagoland Hindu community and earned her M.A. in Samskrita in 2014. In her later years she served as the Midwest Regional Director of Samskrita Bharati and was instrumental to the popularization of Samskrita in the Midwest. Her poem "143rd Street" was featured in the Orland Park Praire. She died shortly before the publication of this book after a four year battle with ovarian cancer. At the time of her death in 2016 she had two children and five grandchildren.
