As students' financial commitment increases, so they demand better library services. When budget cuts and centralisation are seen as the answer to financial restraints, the provision of a personalised library service may seem extravagant, but inventive, customer-facing staff can successfully achieve an enhanced service without increasing costs. This book uses international case studies and practical advice to show the advantages of the personalised - or boutique - library service.
