Autorenporträt
Faye Edwards's experience with loss began at the early age of eight years old with the unexpected death of her mother. Since then, many losses have occurred in Faye's life, but none more devastating than the death of her knight in shining armor, Johnnie, after forty-two years of marriage. Oh, how he did shine! Three years after Johnnie's passing, Faye suffered a debilitating stroke, affecting her entire right side. No can move! Faye knows firsthand how a sense of purpose becomes hidden and the absence of peace of mind and constant agonizing thoughts of being forsaken accompany experiences of loss. Nevertheless, Faye has come to understand the persistence of a strong, loving support system combined with unwavering confidence in the Creator of All Things can affect one's hope and peace. Faye is known, among family and friends, as a purposeful stroke survivor. She possesses an undeniable passion for encouraging and enlightening others to the possibilities obtainable during various loss experiences. Fifty years, after graduating from high school, Faye obtained a bachelor's degree in sociology, with honors, from the Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Her community service involvement centers around what makes her heart sing: volunteer mentoring for at-risk women and assisting in developing curriculum for youth summer camp programs. Faye's personal loss experiences ignited the spark to write the Personal Loss Journal: COVID-19 Season 2020 as a resource to allow private reflections and inspire hope during an unprecedented time. Faye is an avid reader and enjoys collecting everything giraffe related. She resides in central Ohio, along with her twenty-plus giraffes.
