Doyle is warned at the beginning of the mission that 'everything in New Guinea will be trying to kill him.' It seems as if New Guinea is trying to make good on that promise. The recovery of the nuclear weapons is the toughest mission Doyle has ever undertaken. From the start, the mission is dogged by bad-luck and an ingenious enemy, always one-step ahead. His team must survive hostile New Guinea warriors, man-eating sharks and crocodiles, venomous snakes and a Chinese military force allied to the Germans.

Autorenporträt

Paul Dalzell has lived and worked in the Asia-Pacific region for nearly 50 years as a fishery biologist and manager. He comes from West Yorkshire, England, and currently lives in Hawaii. His two previous novels, The Last Dream Before You Die and Everything Hurts weave reality and legend about vampires, and feature a retired detective, Jack Bone, who is befriended and helped by a vampire family. A subsequent novel, recently published, is The Friends of Eddy Relish, a modern day thriller, where a failed British actor finds a path to redemption and fame again, as long as he keeps one step ahead of his enemies. This novel Pax Britannica is a thriller set in a counterfactual history.
