The plot of the book is quite simple: university teacher Roman Ilyich Merlin, together with his friends, is involved in the creation of a powerful Fortecia corporation. Here they do everything - from electronics to airship building. Due to circumstances beyond the hero's control, hiding from persecution, he is forced to live as a hermit in the deep taiga for several years. But what he will see when he decides to leave his shelter will amaze not only his imagination ...
