Karl Heinz Voigt ist Pastor der Evangelisch-methodistischen Kirche. Er hat als Ökumene-Beauftragter Jahrzehnte in ökumenischen Gremien mitgewirkt. 2007 erhielt er in den USA für seine historischen Forschungen den Distinguished Service Award.
