Paul Stanbridge grew up in Essex. He has worked as a pensions administrator, bookseller, receptionist, waiter, archival catalogue editor, chef, barman, ministerial drafter, learning mentor and builder. Forbidden Line, his first novel, was longlisted for the 2017 Desmond Elliot Prize and the winner of the 2017 Republic of Consciousness First Novel Award.
