Aleksei Alekseevich Brusilov (1853-1926) - Russian and Soviet military commander and military educator, general from the cavalry, adjutant-general, chief inspector of the Red Army cavalry. His talentedly conceived and brilliantly realized breakthrough of the front of the Austro-German troops in 1916, dubbed Lutsk and later Brusilov, was reflected throughout the course of the world war. Brusilov left behind a memoir called "My Memories", devoted primarily to his service in Tsarist and Soviet Russia.
