Autorenporträt

Having lived a life punctuated by acute moments of disbelief, Arlene N. Cohen takes the reader beyond appearances using magical realism and satire to see a deeper meaning in the stories. She is the author of Mostly True: Short Stories and a series of books for children called Literacy on the Move. The later includes fun dancing stories picture books and companion coloring books. Also, she authored Stories on the Move: Integrating Literature and Movement with Children from Infants to Age 14 which has sold over 1600 copies internationally. She has a degree in Children's Librarianship from the University of Hawaii where she was a Librarian and an Instructor in the Speech Department, teaching Storytelling. For 25 years she was a dancing storyteller in Artists in the Schools programs in Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Texas.
