Fons J. R. van de Vijver (1952¿2019) held a chair in cross-cultural psychology at Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and extraordinary chair positions at North-West University, South Africa, and the University of Queensland, Australia. One of the most frequently cited cross-cultural psychologists worldwide, he also served as president of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology and the European Association of Psychological Assessment.
