José Palmer and Reinette Lombard have years of experience teaching children who struggle with reading and spelling. With the Learn to read series their aim is to teach children that reading is fun. This reading series with its colourful illustrations is not only fun to read, but also promotes vocabulary and comprehension. The Learn to do series was co-authored with Elzette Badenhorst, an occupational therapist and Andrea Fourie, a speech therapist.
