Autorenporträt

Brooke Biaz (aka Graeme Harper) is a fiction writer, scriptwriter, and critic. Editor-in-Chief of the international journal, NEW WRITING, he is a Professor of Creative Writing, Dean of The Honors College at Oakland University, Michigan, and an Honorary Professor in the United Kingdom. Foundation Director of Britain's National Institute for Excellence in the Creative Industries, he was the inaugural Chair of Higher Education at the National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE), and was awarded the first doctorate in Creative Writing awarded in Australia. Formerly a Commonwealth Scholar in Creative Writing, he has worked in Alabama, Texas and Maine, and at length in Great Britain and in Australia, and has been a research panelist for Britain's Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the European Commission and the Joint Information Systems Committee. His awards include the National Book Council Award for New Fiction (Australia), the 01 General/tradeW Premier's Writers' Fellowship and awards from the British Academy, BBC and the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, among others. His previous books include MOON DANCE (Parlor, 2008) and SMALL MAPS OF THE WORLD (Parlor, 2006). He is currently working on a book for Parlor Press about great chefs, the senses and travel.
