Peng Xizhe, Doctor of Philosophy degree in Population Studies from London School of Economics and Political Sciences. In recent years, Peng has engaged in research and teaching in fields like dynamic condition of China population, aging population, employment and gender issues. Peng has been the author and chief editor of 20 books published at home and abroad, and more than 160 academic papers and book chapters. Due to these academic achievements, Peng has won prizes of scientific research in provincial and municipal levels. Peng is now the Director of the Fudan Institute on Ageing, the Director of Center for Population and Development Policy Studies in Fudan University, the Executive Vice-President of the Fudan Development Institute, the Director of the State Innovative Institute for Public Management and Public Policy Studies in Fudan University. Peng has ever served as the Vice-President of Shanghai Social Sciences Association, the Vice-President of Population Association of China,the Vice-President of Shanghai Association of Sociology, the President of Shanghai Association of Social Workers. Peng is the editorial board member (advisor) of many international academic journals like Population and Development Review (PDR), Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory (JPART), International Social Security Review (ISSR), Asian Population Studies (APS). Peng was ever served as a member of World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on the Ageing Society, a member of the IHDP Scientific Committee, a member of the ESSP Scientific Committee, and a member of many specialized committees under IUSSP.
