Autorenporträt
Born in Derby in 1953, Andrew has been a hiker for fifty years. Now living in Dorset, he's swapped the soft limestone contours of the Peak District for the chalk ridges of Purbeck as his primary stomping ground. Approaching retirement as an ICT trainer, he's conceived the entirely mad notion that he wants to walk 1,260 miles from Land's End to John o'Groats. In preparing for the challenge, however, he's discovered that long distance walks are not as straightforward as weekend rambles. With two failed attempts at the Pennine Way sitting squidgily under his belt alongside middle-age spread, he's determined to learn from past mistakes and become a hardy backpacker with real path-cred. He invites you to join him on his arduous, sometimes painful learning curve.
